Courtois: I'm two metres tall and opponents get nervous when I go up for corners

Thibaut Courtois proved how much of a threat he poses at set-pieces, even in an attack sense of, as he helped Real Madrid score a late equaliser at Valencia.

The goalkeeper went up for a corner in stoppage time at Mestalla and saw his header saved by Jaume Domenech before Karim Benzema scored the equaliser.

"I took advantage of my height to meet the corner," the Belgian said.

"I'm two metres tall and opponents get nervous if I go up [for corners].

"Toni [Kroos] sends corners to the near post, I saw the ball coming at my height and I connected well.

"Then the ball fell to Benzema and he scored."

Real Madrid now go into Wednesday's Clasico with Barcelona on top of LaLiga Santander, but Courtois knows the challenge that awaits them at the Camp Nou.

"Barcelona look good," he said.

"They're in form, they've done well against Borussia Dortmund and Inter in the Champions League.

"Both teams go into [El Clasico] in very good form.

"Each team have their own strengths

"We feel good and hopefully our strengths show."
