Ter Stegen to undergo surgery after Euro 2020 to make a 100% recovery

Ter Stegen to undergo surgery

Barcelona goalkeeper Marc ter Stegen will be forced to undergo surgery at the end of the season if his knee problem doesn't heal in the coming months.

The German's intention is to wait until the day after Euro 2020 to have an operation which would see him make a 100 percent recovery.

Ter Stegen has been undergoing treatment during the winter break and is likely to miss the derby against Espanyol this weekend, with Neto set to fill in.

Summer signing Neto could also continue to start for the Spanish Super Cup next week, but no decision has yet been made.

Ter Stegen's been seeking treatment for a while but things have not been improved. In that case he's unable to continue before the end of the season, he could also opt to undergo surgery earlier.
