Courtois builds his wall: Clean sheet after clean sheet

Real Madrid pulled clear at the top of LaLiga Santander over the weekend and that lead has come largely thanks to their defensive solidity.

Los Blancos have had troubles in attack, but they've been sound at the back and that has allowed for them to establish a three point lead over Barcelona.

Thibaut Courtois has been particularly impressive after a slow start.

The Belgian has conceded just three goals in his last 11 appearances, keeping eight clean sheets.

Only Valencia, Sevilla and Real Sociedad have been able to beat him in that time, and he's conceded just six in his last 16 games across LaLiga Santander, the Champions League and the Supercopa de Espana.

Keeping five consecutive clean sheets in LaLiga Santander, Courtois has become a wall for Madrid.

In front of him, though, his defenders have done fine work as well.

Real Madrid have come through the most games of anyone in Europe's top five leagues this season without conceding a single shot on goal: Sevilla away, Osasuna at home and on Sunday at Real Valladolid.
