'I'll thank Valverde' - Ter Stegen excited after winning the Fair Play award

Marc-Andre ter Stegen says new manager Quique Setien is trying to change things at Barcelona after replacing Ernesto Valverde as manager.

Ter Stegen and women's player Alexia Putellas won the Fair Play award by the Agrupacio Barca Jugadors.

"First of all I want to thank Ernesto Valverde, who has done a great job these years, all due respect from our side."

Setien has had the players working hard in training this week. They had a double session on Tuesday and will also train on Sunday before their clash with Granada.

Ter Stegen says the squad are doing their best to implement the new man’s ideas and is hoping the team will go on and enjoy a successful campaign.

"We have a new coach, who is trying to change some things, everyone has their idea of football, we are listening, we try to do what they ask and give everything to make it possible.

"I am already training with the group, it makes me very excited to be with them again and enjoy what I like most.

"We really want to stay top of La Liga and progress in the Champions League, we have a long way to go and we will give the best version. Let’s go for everything."
