Braithwaite debuts and contributes to two goals

Martin Braithwaite came off the bench to make his Barcelona debut in the 72nd minute of their 5-0 win over Eibar at the Camp Nou.

The Danish striker played his first match for his new team just two days after signing from Leganes.

Braithwaite had participated in just one training session with Barcelona on Friday, but already made an impact on the pitch as he played a role in setting up the fourth and fifth goals for Lionel Messi and for Arthur.

His transfer sparked controversy as Leganes, currently in the relegation zone, were not able to sign a replacement for one their best players this season.

Barcelona were allowed to trigger his 18 million euro buyout clause outside the market, as they were in search of an emergency signing to cover for Ousmane Dembele, who will be sidelined for the next six months.
