Morata hoping to hurt Real Madrid

Alvaro Morata has taken on Real Madrid at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu before, but this weekend he'll do it for the first time as an Atletico Madrid player.

Los Rojiblancos' No.9 came through Madrid's academy and had two spells at the Bernabeu, but was never able to consolidate his place in the starting XI, first seeking a loan to Juventus and then a permanent move for Chelsea.

He struggled to settle at Stamford Bridge, and the option of joining Diego Simeone at Atletico proved too good for him to turn down.

Now he's back to face Madrid again, a side he's already played a big hand in beating during his stay in Turin.

Morata scored in both legs of the Champions League semi-final which sent Madrid packing as Juventus marched on to the showpiece event in Berlin.

The away leg of that tie remains the only occasion he faced Madrid at the Bernabeu as an opponent but now, almost five years later, he's set to do exactly that again.

The No.9 will want to make up for lost time too, having missed the previous derby this season after being sent off in Mallorca.
