Napoli fans banned to watch their game against Inter in Coppa Italia semi-final

It has been confirmed that tickets to the Inter-Napoli Coppa Italia semi-final are banned to residents of the Campania region due to security fears.

The first leg of the semi-final is at San Siro on Wednesday evening, with the second in Naples on March 5.

A statement released today by Inter confirmed that local authorities have banned the sale of tickets to residents of the Campania region.

This effectively bars away fans from making the trip up to Milan for the game, including those who have the so-called ‘fan passport.’

Napoli have therefore begun reimbursing those who have already purchased their tickets.

There are significant safety concerns around this game, especially after the deadly clashes between ultras outside the stadium in December 2018.

Inter fans prepared an ambush for travelling supporters, resulting in a Nerazzurri ultra being run over and killed by a car driven by Napoli followers.
