Fc Barcelona are still talks to extend the contract of there goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen, according to reports in Spain.

The Spanish champions are keen to tie down the German to a new long-term deal having established himself as one of the world's best goalkeepers.

While recent reports have suggested that ter Stegen is in no rush to sign a new contract, Barcelona are confident they can extend his current contract through to 2024, according to Sport.

The 27-year-old has become a target for Chelsea and Barcelona may face a fight to keep him at the Nou Camp this summer.

Ter Stegen reportedly wants to become the club's second highest earner behind Lionel Messi, which has reportedly slowed down talks over a new deal.

The Germany international's current deal at Barca is due to expire in the summer of 2022.
