'He is getting in position to score goals' - Utd legend Keane praises Ighalo

Manchester United great Roy Keane has issued a prediction in relation to loan signing Odion Ighalo ahead of the Premier League clash against Manchester City.

Ighalo has made a good impact at the Reds since signing from Shanghai Shenhua in the January transfer window on loan until the end of the season.

The 30-year-old striker bagged his first goal for the club in the 5-0 hammering of Club Brugge last month in the Europa League before adding a brace in the 3-0 FA Cup fifth round victory at Derby County in midweek.

Keane has now lavished praise on the forward following his starring role at Derby and ahead of facing Man City, the former United captain explained that he believes Ighalo could be the difference in the club's race for the top four.

"I enjoyed what he said (in his interview). It was a huge gamble. They needed a body. His love for the club is great. He is getting in position to score goals," Keane told Sky Sports.

"He might just be player that gets them over the line and gets them fourth. So far so good."

Both Keane and fellow pundit and former United star Gary Neville were talking about Ighalo after his interview was broadcast on Sky Sports.

Neville added that he believes Ighalo's love for United sums up the contrast in attitude from the club's players in comparison with early last season under Jose Mourinho.

"Last season there was a point during the season under Jose Mourinho you felt like you were watching a bunch of mercenaries," Neville added. "It's far from perfect now but the players out there want to play hard." Follow us on Twitter and on Facebook
