Man City fined by UEFA for an issue with their kit during UCL clash with Madrid

Manchester City have been fined €3,000 for an issue with their kit during the Champions League game with Real Madrid last month.

However, the Blues have been deemed to have committed a kit infringement with their non-playing tops. The equipment rules from UEFA state that :

"Only one single element of sponsor advertising is permitted, in the following maximum sizes:

a) 20cm² on anthem jackets;

b) 200cm² on all other non-playing attire tops."

City were deemed to have breached this rule and because it was not their first offence were fined rather than simply warned.

UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin has warned that the season could be lost if football does not get underway before the end of June.
