Osasuna forward Chimy Avila refuses to rule out Barcelona move

Osasuna forward Chimy Avila has refused to rule out a move to Barcelona, Atletico Madrid or Sevilla but insists that he is currently focused on his recovery from injury.

Avila has scored nine goals in 20 La Liga appearances this season but has been sidelined since January after suffering a cruciate ligament injury.

The 26-year-old has been tipped to make a move to one of Spain's leading clubs once he is fully fit, but Avila says that he hasn't heard anything about a possible transfer.

Avila told Marca: 'I was only thinking about achieving survival with Osasuna. I didn't think about those things.

'Maybe when I'm back my agent will tell me things.'

Avila also discussed the possibility of playing with Lionel Messi, but pointed out that he wouldn't necessarily have to join Barcelona for such a scenario to occur as they could play together for Argentina.

Avila said: 'Everyone would like to play with him because he's the best in the world. But it's not a dream, as such.

'All of this has to be overcome first, but it could happen with the national team as well [as at Barcelona].'

It is anticipated that Avila won't be able to play until next season because of his injury.

Having commenced his senior career at Tiro Federal in his homeland, Avila moved to San Lorenzo in 2015.

Avila then had two years on loan at Huesca before signing for Osasuna last year.
