Chelsea aim to sign Liverpool target ahead of Barcelona playmaker Coutinho

Chelsea is in the race to sign Liverpool target Kai Havertz as the aim to put the signing of Barcelona playmaker Philippe Coutinho on hold when the transfer window opens in the summer.
Chelsea is prepared to drop their interest in the signing of Coutinho as they aim to go all out for 20-year-old Havertz.

Chelsea manager is a huge fan of Coutinho but he is reconsidering his desire to bring the Brazilian back to Premier League after the eye-catching performance of Havertz with Bayer Leverkusen.
Havertz has been a target for Liverpool as Jurgen Klopp is keen on signing the young attacking midfielder.

The 20-year-old has enjoyed a strong campaign at Leverkusen, contributing nine goals and seven assists from 30 outings in the Bundesliga and Europe.
The youngster has a price tag of £90m a figure Chelsea feel is considerate for a 20-year-old attacker of his calibre, the Blues directors are aware that the attacker still has more than 10 years to offer at the top flight.

Lampard has already captured the signature of Hakim Ziyech and the signing of Coutinho and Havertz could be surplus to requirement, only one of the attacking midfielder can be signed and all indication is pointing towards the signing of the 20-year-old German international.
