Chelsea set sight on Bayern Munich defender as a replacement for Marcos Alonso and Emerson Palmieri

Chelsea has set sight on Bayern Munich defender David Alaba as a replacement for Marcos Alonso and Emerson Palmieri at the Stamford Bridge at the end of the season.

Manager Frank Lampard is keen on signing the Austrian defender after his main target is Alex Telles interested in a move to Paris Saint-Germain.

Chelsea is liked with lots of defenders especially left-backs with manager Frank Lampard keen on selling the two left-backs at his disposal Marcos Alonso and Emerson Palmieri.

The two have performed below par this season and Lampard is interested in moving them on and bring a left-back defender that can contribute immensely to the team.

Lampard is keen on finding the right balance at the left-back position with Marcos Alonso and Emerson Palmieri short of what he requires from a left-back.

The form of both players this season is nothing to write home about, though Alonso has begun to show that he has what it takes to remain at Stamford Bridge and Lampard was impressive with the Spanish defender’s display before the outbreak of the coronavirus that crippled football in the past month.

Chelsea could pull the string to bring the versatile defender to Stamford Bridge at the end of the current campaign.
