Emre Can hits out at Maurizio Sarri for not treating him fairly prior to Borussia Dortmund move

Emre Can have complained former manager Maurizio Sarri never gave him a chance to thrive at Juventus before selling him to Borussia Dortmund.

The Germany international joined Juve from Liverpool in June 2018 and achieved immediate success, winning Serie A and the Italian Super Cup.

However, Sarri ostracised Can after arriving from Chelsea the following year, handing him eight appearances in the 2019-20 season and excluding him entirely from the Champions League squad.

'Sarri never gave me a chance, so I went through some really difficult moments,' Can tell German newspaper Bild.

'I was an important part of the team the year before, winning the Scudetto and playing well in the Champions League.

'In any case, Juve remains a beautiful chapter in my career.'

Just 18 days after signing Can on loan in January, Dortmund announced they would make the deal permanent at the end of the season.

The 26-year-old is set to complete a £21million move which will see him contracted until June 2024.

Since Can's arrival at Signal Iduna Park, the midfielder has made eight appearances and scored one goal.
