Real Madrid and Liverpool set to vie for Lille midfielder

Real Madrid and Liverpool are in the race to sign Lille midfielder Boubakary Soumare as they aim to add more depth to their midfield options.

Liverpool and Real Madrid  are prepared to do battle for the signature of the 21-year-old midfielder.

Soumare has been impressive in the past seasons and his performance has not gone unnoticed at the Anfield and at the Santiago Bernabeu with Los Blancos boss Zinedine Zidane and Reds manager Jurgen Klopp interested in his service.

Real Madrid is keen on getting a direct replacement for Casemiro in the holding midfield role while Liverpool is keen on strengthening their option in the midfield with both managers viewing Soumare as the right player for the job.

The France youth international has featured in 30 games across all competitions for Lille this term and will need to weigh his options at the end of the campaign as his final decision will play a huge role if he wants to continue his development.

Soumare is yet to decide which side he will sign for but at the moment he has Real Madrid and Liverpool seriously vying for his signature as both teams will guarantee a Champions League football and he can compete for major titles with both teams.

Real Madrid is likely to win the battle due to the French contingent at Real Madrid at the moment.
