Rulli: My best moment was a 1-0 win against Barcelona, I played great

Geronimo Rulli might be on loan with Montpellier, but the goalkeeper hasn't forgotten his time at Real Sociedad, with whom he still has a contract.

The Argentine enjoyed some of his best memories in San Sebastian, where he was afforded the chance to come up against the world's best players in Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

"There are times when you're on the pitch and you have to think, 'look where I came from, to now be playing against the best player in the world,'" Rulli told TNT Sports.

"Someone with five Ballon d'Ors, but when the whistle blows, he's just one more player.

"If I had to choose one moment it'd be when we beat Barcelona 1-0 at Anoeta.

"They threw everything at me that day and I had a good game."

Rulli even saved a Cristiano Ronaldo penalty during a game against Real Madrid.

"It's a unique feeling," he explained.

"He, Neymar and Messi, the world's best players, took penalties against me.

"I managed to get the better of all three of them and I'll be able to tell my children and grandchildren about it."

Rulli did join Manchester City but was immediately loaned back to Real Sociedad before the Basques made the deal permanent, and the English champions still own a percentage of him.

"I'm 70 per cent La Real, 30 per cent City," he explained.

"I've got two years left on my contract [at La Real].

"Everyone makes decisions and at that moment I thought it was the right thing, so I don't regret anything.

"I went with my heart and that was to stay at La Real. I don't regret anything at all."
