Setien says he is not in favour of La Liga's protocol about returning to action

Barcelona head coach Quique Setien has made clear that he is not in favour of LaLiga's protocol about returning to action.

One of the issues that the former Las Palmas coach has a problem with is being able to apply all of the rules named.

"Everyone wants to be ready when the time comes, but until the authorities guarantee that there is no problem..." Setien told RAC1.

"I've read the LaLiga protocol and it seems distressing to me; I don't think it can be carried out.

"I don't think all of those rules can be carried out."

Barcelona have been embroiled in crises during Setien's time in charge, but he is thus far happy with what he's seen on the pitch, prior to the coronavirus-enforced stoppage of football.

"We would have like to have had more continuity, but at times I have been satisfied," he noted.

"Everyone has to think that Barcelona and the big boys have to win, clearly. And that's not easy.

"Since we arrived, we have improved things that we wanted to improve. There are lots of things we do well.

"The lack of continuity hasn't allowed us to win more matches with more clarity."

Despite the coronavirus pandemic, thoughts are already turning towards the summer transfer window, yet the former Real Betis boss recognises the impact the current stoppage may have on Barcelona.

"The situation now makes this an uncertainty," Setien stated.

"All the forecasts that have been made must be put into quarantine.

"Nobody knows if we will play; we already know the economic situation of all the clubs and this will alter the market.

"The club was working on transfers and departures, for whatever reason, but this has to be put on standby.

"It's difficult to know what will happen in the future."
