Zidane intent on forcing a deal through for Pogba this summer

Paul Pogba remains top of Real Madrid's wishlist this summer, according to reports in France.

And Zinedine Zidane could be able to get his man to the Bernabeu for a cut-price fee, with Manchester United reportedly resigned to losing him.

Zidane is intent on linking up with his compatriot, and French newspaper L'Equipe report that the asking price for the World Cup winner will be lower than the £87m fee set a year ago.

Pogba is not the only player Madrid are targeting this summer, and the report also indicates that Rennes starlet Eduardo Camavinga is attracting interest.

Pogba, who joined Manchester United from Juventus in 2016, has long been of interest to Real Madrid and came close to getting his dream move to the Spanish capital last year.

The 27-year-old admitted last March that playing for Madrid and under Zidane would be a 'dream' as he courted the 13-time European champions.

But he was forced to remain at Old Trafford as they failed to agree a transfer, and he has gone on to suffer an injury-hit campaign.

Pogba featured only twice after September before the coronavirus shutdown struck having struggled with an ankle injury.

He returned for United's Boxing Day win over Newcastle, only for the problem to flare up and require surgery in the new year.

Pogba had been targeting a return to injury last month before football was suspended due to the health crisis.
