Barcelona set sight on Juventus defender to replace Nelson Semedo

Barcelona has set sight on Juventus defender Mattia de Sciglio to replace Nelson Semedo at the Camp Nou.

The La Liga giants have held talks with Juventus over the signing of replacement for Semedo after a contract talk breakdown with the Portuguese defender.

Barcelona has identified Juventus defender De Sciglio as an ideal replacement for Semedo, the Portuguese defender is up for sale at the Camp Nou at the end of the season or included in a swap deal to sign another player.

Barcelona has been credited for Juventus midfielder Miralem Pjanic and during their conversation with Juventus for the services of the Serbian star the Blaugrana have offered Semedo, Sergi Roberto, Ivan Rakitic and Arturo Vidal as makeweights.

De Sciglio was also mentioned as a possible signing, the Italian defender has many suitors and Barcelona is one of those teams craving for his signature, Barcelona see him as a good defender he’s seen as a good alternative to the more attacking Sergi Roberto at right-back.

De Sciglio would also be accessible in terms of financing, with Juve looking for around 10 million euros for the 27-year-old.

The move for the Italian defender will depend on the sale of Semedo in a bid to raise fund and create space in the first team for the incoming player.

Barcelona is also considering signing Joao Cancelo from Manchester City at the end of the season.
