Bundesliga Wrap: Lookman concedes penalty as new Super Eagles invitee subbed off early

Ademola Lookman concedes a penalty in RB Leipzig 2-2 against Hertha Berlin, while new Super Eagles invitee Kingsley Ehizibue subbed off early in Cologne lost 3-1 away to Hoffenheim.

Marko Grujic put Hertha ahead in the ninth minute of the thrilling encounter but the hosts rallied back and got the equaliser in the 24th minute through Lukas Klostermann.

Leipzig took the lead for the first time in the game when Patrick Schick fired home in the 68th minute following a howler from Hertha goalkeeper Rune Jarstein.

Hertha made the numerical advantage count as Matheus Cunha was brought down in the box by Ademola Lookman, allowing Krzysztof Piatek to equalise eight minutes from time.

Leipzig remain third in the table, while Hertha stay 11th after extending their unbeaten run to five games.

At the PreZero Arena, Ehizibue who was in the starting eleven was removed in the 32nd minute after making his 26th Bundesliga appearance with one goal to his name.

A brace from Christoph Baumgartner in the 11th and 46th minutes and a strike from Steven Zuber on 48 minutes, secured the win for Hoffenheim.

NFF target Joshua Orobosa Zirkzee was a non-playing substitute as Bayern Munich pipped Borussia Dortmund 1-0 in their Der Klassiker meeting staged at Signal Iduna Park.

Joshua Kimmich’s first-half stunner proved the difference.

Elsewhere at the WWK Arena, defenders Jamilu Collins and Felix Uduokhai helped their respective teams to keep a clean sheet as Augsburg and Paderborn shared spoils in a goalless stalemate.

While Mainz’s Taiwo Awoniyi started and lasted until the 63rd minute when he was replaced Karim Onisiwo, Anthony Ujah watched proceedings from the bench for the entirety of the game for the hosts.
