Champions League Draft Calendar Fixture Plan Out With Return Date Set

Champions League Draft Calendar Fixture Plan
The Champions League is set to restart after Coronavirus pandemic put a halt to the European campaign midway through the round of 16 stage back in March.

UEFA have since plotted to finish the competition in an unfamiliar way with Friday, August 7 poised to see Europe’s elite club competition return.

The finals of both the Champions League and the Europa League had been lined up for the end of the summer.

And the idea was to give domestic leagues across Europe the chance to finish their respective seasons before clubs turned their attention back to European football.
Few specifics regarding the fixture calendar have been made clear as yet.

Spanish newspaper Marca has outlined the draft calendar for the Champions League’s return.

It sees Manchester City host Real Madrid at the Etihad Stadium on August 7 too.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are set to travel to Germany for the second leg of their round of 16 tie against Bayern Munich on Saturday, August 8.
Atalanta, RB Leipzig, PSG and Atletico Madrid have already reached the quarter-final stage, but it remains to be seen when the draw will take place for the last eight.

Given how the competition won’t return until August, the draw won’t be able to take place before then.
