Chelsea dealt blow in pursuit of Barcelona keeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen

Marc-Andre Ter Stegen admits he is not looking to leave Barcelona and claims he has already started talks over a new deal with the club.

Ter Stegen's future has looked uncertain in recent months, with the likes of Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea both assessing the Germany international's availability.

However, despite murmurs of unhappiness from the No 1 keeper at the Nou Camp, he insists he has no reason to leave the Spanish champions.

The 28-year-old claims talks over a new three-year extension deal have already taken place and have only stumbled in recent weeks due to the coronavirus.

'We have had the first conversations, but we have parked it, due to the situation. There are more important things at the moment,' Ter Stegen said in an Instagram live interview.

'I am very happy here at Barcelona. My situation is good, what more could I ask for? I am relaxed about the renewal, and we will restart talks soon.

Ter Stegen has been with Barcelona since 2014 after signing for £10million from Borussia Monchengladbach.

However he has only been the club's main stopper since 2016 following Claudio Bravo's move to Manchester City.

Although talks have stopped between him and Barca, the club are under no pressure to sell him this summer with this contract not due to expire until 2022.
