Covid-19 Palliative: Ex-Nigeria U23 star donates 2000 bags of rice to his home state

Former Nigeria U23 forward Fanendo Adi has donated 2000 bags of rice to the vulnerable in his home Benue state as palliative at the harsh effect of the Coronavirus Pandemic.

The 29-year-old who currently plays for Major League Soccer (MLS) side, Columbus Crew SC donation was received by the Benue State deputy governor Engr B. Abounu, on behalf of the Executive Governor, Samuel Orton.

Adi tweeted on his Twitter handle

“It’s indeed my humble pleasure to help these masses of Venue State in this very challenging period”, said forward.

“We all know that what’s happening now is due to no fault of the people, and to be in a position to help is very fulfilling.

“I thank God for His blessing for me to be able to help and I know this food item will surely get to the targeted vulnerable in the state.”

Notedly, Adi was called up to Nigeria’s U23 team twice in 2011 as he was also called up to the senior Nigeria squad to face Egypt in a 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in March 2016 but did not play.
