Dutch-Nigerian reveals his high and low point as Super Eagles player

Dutch-Nigerian William Troost-Ekong has revealed his high point and low point as Super Players so far.

The 26-year-old Udinese centre-back made his debut on 13 June 2015 in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Chad but his then he has been becoming regular for Super Eagles where he went to feature in 2018 FIFA World Cup and 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.

Ekong made himself available on an Instagram live session with Super Eagles Media team to share the most enjoyable moments as well as the ones he’d wish to forget in a Nigeria shirt.

“Qualifying for the World Cup at home in Uyo, my hometown was special with my family there,”.

“It was a difficult group with Cameroon, Algeria and Zambia, that was a high point.”

“Another high point was scoring in the last minute against South Africa in the semi-final as well as the win against Iceland at the World Cup,” Ekong added.

The Rio 2016 Summer Olympics medalist then expressed regret over an own goal he scored against Algeria as well as conceding a penalty in the 2018 FIFA World Cup group opening match against tournament finalists Croatia.

“Obviously my own goal against Algeria and the penalty moment against Croatia at the World Cup,” he concluded.

Ekong is a mainstay in the Super Eagles defence now where he has gone to make 42 appearances and notched two goals in the process.
