Ibrahimovic has more chance of staying at Milan than Maldini

There are several issues that will need to be addressed in the coming months at Milan and among these there is also the future of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Paolo Maldini.

According to Monday's edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews), in both cases their meetings with CEO Ivan Gazidis will be decisive, and will take place when the season ends. At the moment, the Swede appears closer to staying at Milan than the technical director, whose position is more in the balance.

There should be no particular problems in reaching an agreement between Ibra and the club for renewal. There is no economic given that in fact the parties had already found an agreement in January also for the 2020-2021 season, but rather who will be the next coach.

Gazidis for his part wants to establish more clarity on who will sit on the Milan bench next season before pitching a concrete offer to Ibrahimovic, who will of course form his own opinion on whether staying is a good idea.

Maldini's future is more uncertain as there are several unknown factors. Boban's farewell could in fact lead him to say goodbye at the end of the season, especially if a figure like Ralf Rangnick should arrive, with whom co-existence appears absolutely impossible.

The German would come to be both the head coach and the sporting director, and therefore the former captain would see his role weakened, which would certainly lead him to leave Milan.
