Ighalo To Finally Bow Out Of Old Trafford As Shanghai Shenhua Summons Him Back

Ighalo Out Of Old Trafford
Manchester United and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer may have to complete the season without the services of Odion Ighalo.

An extension of the season is expected but it is likely that Shanghai Shenhua won’t allow the 30-year-old striker to stay any longer than is already agreed.

The Nigeria international is under contract until December 2022 and Ighalo has been offered a two-year contract extension worth £400,000 a week by his parent club – which is likely to out-price any offer the Red Devils might make.

“I would like to finish the season if it’s possible,” Ighalo told the BBC World Service last week.

Following Solskjaer’s comments in March: “Odion has done really well since he came in and he’s enjoying himself.

“And he will improve and get better but he has qualities we saw in him and we needed and we will still need those qualities for next season, so let’s see what we will do.’’

The Norwegian added this week of his other attacking options: ”I think Mason [Greenwood], Anthony [Martial] and Marcus [Rashford] this season have been fantastic. They’ve scored upwards of 50 goals, the three of them.
