John Barnes’ ‘World XI’ Is Missing Cristiano Ronaldo!

John Barnes' 'World XI' Missing ronaldo
Cristiano Ronaldo did not make Liverpool hero John Barnes’ “World XI” – but the Englishman did include Lionel Messi and four current Reds stars.

Having won league titles with 626 goals in 838 appearances, and honoured with five Ballon D’Or awards, the Portuguese superstar did not earn a place in the best current world XI for Barnes.

The former forward’s front three included Barcelona star and rival to the Juventus man Messi, who has 627 goals in 718 games.
And the England hero explained his decision to talkSPORT, with: “My favourite player of all time has to be in there, Messi.

He speaks for himself.
“What he’s done for the last few years and in terms of this season and last season at Barcelona has been incredible. Winning the League and running away with it.

“Cristiano Ronaldo is still an effective player, but he is not the power that he once was.”
Messi was joined in the front three by Bayern Munich star Robert Lewandowski and Liverpool’s top-scorer this season Sadio Mane.
