Liverpool 'chase Bremen star Rashica who can leave for just £13m if relegated'

Liverpool are eyeing Werder Bremen winger Milot Rashica ahead of the transfer window, according to reports.

And they could snap up the 23-year-old in a cut-price deal if the imminent return of the Bundesliga means Rashica and Bremen are relegated before the middle of June.

Bremen are 17th, four points from 16th and the relegation play-off, and if they drop out of the league before June 15 then his release clause drops to just €15million (£13m).

There is another release clause in his deal, worth €38m (£33m), although German outlet Bild are reporting that it also expires on June 15.

As a result, Bremen are confident that they will not lose one of their prized assets for a bargain fee in the summer.

Sporting director Frank Baumann is relaxed about the situation around Rashica.

He said: 'I don't think anything will happen at very short notice. We know that many clubs are interested, but there is no offer. We are still relaxed.'

Liverpool are thought to be the club from England most interested in the wide man, who can also play in attacking midfield.

Southampton have also taken a look at him, while RB Leipzig are keeping an eye on a player who has seven goals in 20 Bundesliga appearances this season.

Rashica and his Bremen team-mates will find out when they will return to action on Thursday.

The German government gave the Bundesliga permission to restart in the second half of May on Wednesday but they will pick between May 15 or 22 for the first game back in a meeting.
