Marcus Rashford To Become Next Manchester United Captain

Marcus Rashford Next Manchester United Captain
Harry Maguire took over the Manchester United captain armband from Ashley Young in January, six months after his move to Old Trafford from Leicester.

And now, the England defender, who may well be skipper for the foreseeable future, believes Marcus Rashford is also captain material for the future and could succeed him as captain of the Red Devils.

“Yeah, definitely,” said Maguire when asked whether the 22-year-old could be United captain. “I think as a club, you should have a captain and rely on him, but you need to spread the onus of the leadership in the group.

“Marcus is there and he battles through every game, obviously he’s missing through a bad injury at the moment but he’s battling hard to get back and he’s very rarely missing games.

‘’He’s always wanting to make himself available.”

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side are hopeful Rashford will be fit to return from a back injury if the Premier League gets the green light to resume amid the ongoing coronavirus crisis.

Maguire has seen Rashford, who has scored 19 goals this season, up close for both club and country and has been impressed.
