Money palaver force Nigerian midfielder to quit former Premier League club

Nigerian midfielder Tim Akinola has been was forced to quits former Premier League club Huddersfield Town due to money palaver ahead of the upcoming transfer window.

The 19-year-old old joined Terriers one-year contract last summer after a successful trial, and the club has an option on a further year’s extension.

According to Allnigerianscoccer claim that Akinola will end his association with Huddersfield Town when he comes off contract with the club on June 30, 2020, despite the Championship club keen on retaining him for next season.

However, the highly-rated Nigerian teenager is looking for more money but the Terriers which made the club not to trigger an extension clause.

Akinola is great at breaking up play and has shown the ability to also play on the wing and at right-back as well as his preferred central midfield position.

Akinola started his with Lincoln City after an impressive performance by helped his reach the third round of the FA Youth Cup and went out on loan to Lincoln United plus Danny Cowley’s side were beaten on penalties by Accrington Stanley in the second round of the Checkatrade Trophy.

After coming to Town, he made six appearances (two starts) for Dean Whitehead’s Under 19s, scoring against Larne FC, before making six appearances for Bromby’s Under 17s.
