Potential new owners of Newcastle want Real Madrid ace to be the first major star to join the team

The potential new owners of Newcastle United want Real Madrid star Gareth Bale to be their first major signing at the club as they bid to make their mark on the Premier League.

Newcastle is currently posed for a £300million bid from a wealthy group of investors including the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund.

The bid has been accepted by the current Newcastle’s current owner Mike Ashley, but must be approved by the Premier League.

A decision would be made after the meeting with the chiefs and could see Newcastle handed a sizeable transfer war chest if the is approved.

The report in Marca claimed that upon the complete takeover, Bale would be their first summer target as they want the Welsh attacker to lead their galaxy of stars at the St-James Park.

The club is also on the prepared to hire former Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino who is a huge fan of Bale.

Bale has experienced troubled times at Madrid and would jump into the wagon if his current wage at Real Madrid is met.

A clause was inserted into Bale’s contract as part of the move that saw him join Madrid in 2013, which stated Spurs had 72 hours to make a bid if a rival team made an offer for him.

However, that clause expired on June 30, 2019, meaning Newcastle won’t have to worry about a rival bid from his former club.
