Real Madrid is short of options in the attack as Mariano Diaz joins Luka Jovic on the treatment table at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Real Madrid medical team has been nursing some injuries since the start of the 2019/2020 season.

Marco Asensio was the first casualty after the attacker sustains a ligament injury and he was ruled out of the season, but thanks to the suspension of the league due to COVID-19 that allowed him to make a cameo return and up next was Eden Hazard who suffered an injury with just days to the start of the season.

Zinedine Zidane’s men resumed training 10 days ago and upon their resumption, Luka Jovic suffered an injury and just a few weeks to the restart of the La Liga Mariano Diaz sustained an injury and he is struggling to be fit.

The 26-year-old has made just four appearances so far this season, although he did make a crucial impact before the suspension of the campaign with a goal in the win over rivals Barcelona to suggest that he could still offer an important contribution moving forward.

This is supposed to be an opportunity for Mariano Diaz to get more minute following the absence of Jovic as he is tipped to be a back to Karim Benzema.

Asensio might be deployed to the role of false nine as Real Madrid find themselves with limited options upfront.
