The reason why Lampard grants Kante compassionate leave from Chelsea training

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has granted N’Golo Kante a compassionate leave from the Blues training because of the fear over the Premier League restart.

Kante is expected to join the rest of the squad on training as part of the preparation of the Premier League restart but the French midfielder is understood to hold concerns over the safety of a return to training amid the coronavirus crisis and was allowed to miss Wednesday’s training session with full consent of Lampard, according to The Telegraph.

Kante previous had health issues in 2018 when he passed out in the dressing room at the Chelsea training base and a test was quickly carried out and cardiology tests did not show any underlining issues, he was forced to withdraw from the subsequent fixture.

The former Leicester City midfielder also suffered a family tragedy before the World Cup in the same year as his older brother Niama sadly died after suffering a heart attack.

Watford captain Troy Deeney has also refused to return to training due to COVID-19 while Danny Rose also shares the same feeling.
