Antonio Rudiger great impact in Chelsea transfer coup for Timo Werner

Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger had a great impact in the Blues transfer coup to sign RB Leipzig attacker Timo Werner has been revealed.

The Stamford Bridge outfit has now emerged as the leader in the race to sign the Germany International after the Premier League club reach an agreement on personal terms with the RB Leipzig attacker.

Werner was tipped to join Liverpool after he German star previous admits he would like to work with Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool earlier this season.

Manchester United is also believed to be in the running for the former Stuttgart attacker but Rudiger’s interference in the deal helps Chelsea to jump the queue and emerge as the leader in the race to land the German attacker.

Rudiger and Werner know each other from their days at Stuttgart as well as time spent on international duty and the former AS Roma defender has been in contact with his Germany team-mate throughout Chelsea’s courtship of the forward, according to BILD.

Rudiger has reportedly been talking up life in west London, and that has helped convinced Werner to make Chelsea his next move with the time under manager Frank Lampard at the Stamford Bridge.
