Arsenal Thrashed Behind Closed Doors Ahead Of Man City Test

Arsenal Thrashed Behind Closed Doors
Arsenal lost 3-2 to Championship side Brentford at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday afternoon as the Gunners continued their preparations for the return of the Premier League.

The Gunners led the behind closed doors to match 1-0 at the breakthrough a goal from Joe Willock, but the west Londoners struck three times in the second period to surprise their hosts.

Alexandre Lacazette found the net for Arsenal in that second 45 minutes, but the Championship promotion hopefuls won the game thanks to goals from Tariqe Fosu, Halil Dervisoglu and Shandon Baptiste.

The result comes after Mikel Arteta’s side beat Charlton 6-0 in a behind closed door friendly at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday.

Arsenal’s first league match back after the restart sees them go to Manchester City on June 17, while Brentford is in Championship action against London rivals Fulham on June 20.

Captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has said his side will be ready for the test against City but dismissed the notion that the game will be easier due to the lack of supporters present.
