Bruno Fernandes Causes Problem For Jesse Lingard’s Man Utd Career

Fernandes Problem Lingard's Man Utd Career
Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes’ arrival at Old Trafford has been fantastic for the club – but it may not work out well for Jesse Lingard in the coming months.

That is according to former Chelsea star Tony Cascarino, who reckons Lingard will be ‘lucky’ to survive beyond the summer.

Lingard hasn’t featured regularly in recent months, and Cascarino thinks this could be the end of the attacker’s time at the club he has played for since he was just seven years old.

“It’s hard for him because now players are playing well in the positions he wants to be in,” Cascarino said on talkSPORT.

“They bought Fernandes, that was a real kick for Jesse because once they bought Fernandes that was like: ‘You’re not going to be quite good enough for what I’m needing there’.

“So Jesse will probably find himself lucky if he’s going to be at the club into next season because I’m sure if he’s not playing football, when you’re in your mid-20s and you’ve been a player and you’ve been in the starting line-up and suddenly you find yourself completely discarded and not really getting many opportunities, you’re going to have to look for pastures new.

“You set the standards at Old Trafford, I’ve always said if you play for a big club, and I’ve suffered this, [if] you play okay you’ll be out the door at big clubs.

“That’s not good enough, you can’t be okay for a big club like Manchester United. It’s not the standard.”
