CAS Concludes Man City vs UEFA Hearing, Fate Hangs Till July

Premier League champions Manchester City will find out their European fate next month after the hearing into the club’s appeal against a Champions League ban was completed.

Earlier this season City were left stunned when Uefa hit them with a two-year ban from club football’s elite competition for serious breaches of FFP rules.

Etihad bosses lodged an appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in the hope of getting the ban overturned.

CAS have now released a statement confirming the three day hearing, conducted by video conference between London and Switzerland, has been completed – and that a decision will be revealed in July.

A CAS statement said: “The hearing in the Court of Arbitration for Sport between Manchester City and Uefa has concluded.

Both parties expressed their satisfaction with respect to the conduct of the procedure.

“The decision is expected to be during the first half of July. The exact date will be communicated in advance.”
