FIFA President Sends Congratulatory Letter To Liverpool On Their EPL Title

Liverpool owners have reportedly received a letter from FIFA president Gianni Infantino congratulating them on their maiden Premier League title.

The Reds were confirmed as champions this week with seven games of the season remaining.
It is the first time since 1990 that the Anfield outfit have won a league title with Jurgen Klopp leading Liverpool to success.

And the Liverpool Echo report that Infantino sent a letter addressed to principal owner John W Henry, Reds chairman Tom Werner and Fenway Sports Group president Mike Gordon following the confirmation of the title.

Infantino states Liverpool’s title is “well-deserved” with the speed of which the title has been won in terms of games played being a record.

“Dear Sirs,
“With this letter, please allow me to personally congratulate Liverpool FC on having been crowned 2019/20 Premier League Champions, thirty years after winning your previous Football League First Division title! The club’s 19th title is also your first since the creation of the Premier League, and adds to the seven FA Cups, eight League Cups and fifteen FA Community Shields won on the domestic level.

“Current title holders of the FIFA Club World Cup, won last December in Doha, there is no doubt that this well-deserved title is the result of hard work, passion and commitment, and everyone at the club surely can be proud of this significant achievement.

“I would be grateful if you could please extend my congratulations to everybody involved, from the management to the administration, but most importantly the coaching staff and the players, without forgetting the fans.

“On behalf of the international football community, I finally take this opportunity to thank you for your contribution to the development and prosperity of football not only in your country but all over the world.
