Financial Implications In Odion Ighalo’s Man Utd Extension Revealed

Financial Implications Odion Ighalo’s Man Utd Extension
Manchester United are shelling out £10million to extend Odion Ighalo’s stay until the end of January.

This move is hoped to buy some breathing space in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s hunt for a long-term striker.

The Red Devils are believed to have agreed another loan fee in the region of £6m with Ighalo’s Chinese parent club Shanghai Shenhua.

In addition, they’ll continue to pay about half his £250,000-a-week wages until January 31.

Crucially, it means Solskjaer’s side can take their time as they hunt for a centre-forward.

Lyon’s ex-Fulham and Celtic hotshot Moussa Dembele, 23, has been on the radar.

Securing the 31-year-old Nigerian for eight months will mean Solskjaer can use funds on other areas.
There is no date for a restart in China and there were doubts over whether he would be allowed back into the country.

Plus Shanghai, who did a U-turn yesterday, realised they would be paying around £1m a month for their star man who was not playing any football.
