Manchester United have returned to their Carrington training ground base on Wednesday as the clock ticked down towards the return of Premier League action.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is getting desired results from his players with a week to go until the English top flight resumes next Wednesday, starting with a double-header of Aston Villa vs Sheffield United and Manchester City vs Arsenal.

Odion Ighalo, who recently extended his United loan until January 2021, was pictured in action alongside the likes of club captain Harry Maguire, Scott McTominay and Nemanja Matic.

Bruno Fernandes and Paul Pogba were kept on opposing sides in United’s latest intra-squad on Tuesday, the squad lining up against each other after a planned friendly with Championship side Stoke was called off at the last minute.

United resume their top-flight campaign against Tottenham on June 19, their first game back in three months having embarked upon an 11-match unbeaten run prior to the league’s suspension in March.

Solskjaer’s side find themselves in a fierce battle for fourth spot, and will leapfrog Chelsea with a win over Spurs in north London.
