Chelsea has been on the tail of Leipzig for some time now trying to lure Timo Werner 24 away from Germany making it clear to the German side that they are willing to meet the striker £53million release clause.

Julian Nagelsmann has made it clear that the prolific striker is well in his plan for the remainder of the champions league game despite been linked to Chelsea.

Leipzig secured a place in the quarter-finals after seeing off English side Tottenham 4-0 in England, with Timo scoring the first goal back in February.

When asked about the rumours this is what the manager said;

‘He is our player and has not signed for anyone else.
 ‘His importance to RB Leipzig is extraordinary.
 He has an incredibly good goalscoring rate, which you always hope for from a striker.’
‘Both parties will sit down and see what happens next.
 ‘There are no regulations at the moment.’
UEFA are planning to complete the tournament via a 12-day mini-tournament with Lisbon hosting all the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final in August.

The four remaining round-of-16 ties are slated to be played on August 7 and 8, with the mini finals tournament to kick off the following week.
