Oghenekaro Etebo made his return from injury in Getafe win
Super Eagles midfielder, Oghenekaro Etebo made his return from a minor hamstring injury to help Getafe to a 2-1 victory against Real Sociedad at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez.
The 24-year-old missed the 1-1 draw against Real Valladolid on Match-Day 31 returned to the team but was only handed a spot among the substitutes by the manager, Pepe Bordalas.
The home side made a bright start to the match and their efforts were rewarded with a penalty after referee Adrian Cordero pointed to the spot for what looked like a very soft call but Jaime Mata stepped forward and tucked it away beautifully.
Sociedad fought back and found a way back into the match when Captain Mikel Oyarzabal played in a sublime pass into the part of Adnan Januzaj and the former Manchester United hammered it in with great precision to make it 1-1.
Etebo replaced Allan Nyom and the Nigerian immediately made his presence felt. The Eagles midfielder fouled in midfield and the aggressor saw a yellow card before his left foot shot was deflected for a corner.
Getafe made good their Champions League chances as Jaime Mata grabbed his second for the night to hand them a 2-1 victory. The win takes Getafe to fifth with 52points while Real Sociedad with four consecutive league defeats sit seventh with 47 points.
