Real Madrid put pressure on Barca with emphatic win over Eibar

Madrid closed the gap on La Liga log to just two with an emphatic 3-1 thrashing of Eibar in the Alfredo Di Stefano stadium.

Yesterday, Barcelona opened a five-point lead at the top of the table with a 4-0 demolition of Real Mallorca with Lionel Messi inspiring the victory with a goal and two assists for Jordi Alba and new signing Martin Braithwaite.

Real Madrid wasted no time with Toni Kroos scoring in the sixth minute. Captain, Sergio Ramos made it 2-0 from a sweeping counter-attack after a fine pass from former Chelsea star, Eden Hazard. Fans will be delighted that the Belgian has returned from a long injury layoff and is in fine form.

The Los Blancos completed the first-half rout with when left-back, Marcelo made it 3-0. The visitor pulled one back courtesy Pedro Bigas following fine work from Pablo De Blasis.

Real Madrid held on for all three points and maintain a chase for the title with 59 points after 28 matches, just two points adrift leaders Barcelona.
