Selection Dilemma Rocks Man Utd As Ighalo Arrive Training Ahead Of Spurs Clash
The 31-year-old Nigerian was seen at the AON Training Complex alongside other Red Devils squad with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer set to decide on whether he starts Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes together on Friday.
The pair played together for the first time in one of the two shortened friendly matches against West Brom at Old Trafford.
Fernandes scored a penalty during his team’s 60-minute game but fans were more impressed by the Portuguese’s link-up with Pogba.
And Gary Neville moved to answer queries about the two featuring together ahead of the Red Devils’ return to Premier League action.
He tweeted: “I don’t understand the sentiment of “ How do Pogba and Fernandes “ fit together. They won’t be in a 2 sitting!
“With more fluid systems today than 20 years ago it should be simple. We’ve just watched De Bruyne and David Silva play together for 3 years in a MDF 3.”
Neville’s former United teammate Darren Fletcher agreed that the two can both be stars under Solskjaer but the pair may need to make sacrifices.
Solskjaer field two different squads against West Brom with a team featuring Pogba and Fernandes falling to a 2-1 defeat, while Andreas Pereira scored twice in a 3-1 win in the other match.
Fears are being expressed over United’s match against Spurs on Friday following the news that a Norwich player had tested positive for coronavirus.
