AC Milan vs Atalanta Preview, Betting Tips and Odds

AC Milan vs Atalanta predictions ahead of this Serie A clash on Friday.

Serie A’s form sides
Friday’s Serie A clash pits together the two most in form teams in the division. The pair go into this one with identical records across the last eight games: six wins, two draws and a total of 20 points. In that spell, the Rossoneri have become one of the best sides to watch in Italy, plundering 23 goals across those eight matches alone.

That should make this a great game, given that Atalanta plays the best football in Italy right now. Between these two sides, they’ve hit over 50 goals in 19 combined games since the restart, having played a huge part in a high-scoring return to action. Given that, hopes are high for a great game between the two adventurous sides.

Momentum mounting for Milan
While Atalanta’s good form has come as part of a strong season, it’s the sleeping giants of Milan who have produced some startling form in recent weeks. Manager Stefano Pioli swooped in after Milan’s poor start when they looked out of the running for any kind of strong finish. While the Europa League is the limit for the Rossoneri, they are playing like a top-four side.

Milan won for the third game on the spin in midweek, becoming only the second side in the league to beat Sassuolo since the restart, after Atalanta. In that three-game winning streak, they’ve scored 10 goals, while they’ve won every home game since returning to action, hitting 14 goals in total.

That excellent form has even earned Pioli an extension, changing their planned rebuild. Milan had been set to bring in Ralf Rangnick, but they’ve decided to stick with the man who has made them look like a force once again.

Rossoneri can hold their own
While Milan is meeting another in-form side, we think the hosts can hold their own in our predictions for this one. The visitors may be strong, but there are a few problems for them of late. By their high-standards, Atalanta has dipped by scoring a single goal in each of their last two games. Their last two away games have finished as draws, while their visits to sides in the top four have all been drawn.

Atalanta has won only two of eight visits to sides in the top half, while Milan will head into this one full of confidence and with little to lose following their success of late. The extension for Pioli just adds to the momentum around the club, so we are going with Milan to avoid defeat in this clash. With both teams in impressive form going forward, we are also going for a 2-2 draw as our correct score prediction.
