AC Milan vs Bologna Preview, Betting Tips and Odds

Milan move in on Europe
Another victory in midweek continued AC Milan’s impressive restart. To put into context just how good Milan have been of late, the murmurs around the club of late are now that their seemingly already planned, annual tearing up and starting again summer could now be on hold.

We’ve had months of speculation linking Ralf Rangnick with the hot seat in the Milan dugout. However, his arrival now isn’t certain as Stefano Pioli has guided Milan to wins over Juventus and Lazio in recent weeks. They’re on course for Europe, so a gradual evolution rather than a revolution could be on the cards.

Blank continues to evade Bologna
The visitors have been on the league’s worst-ever defensive run for some time now. They have now gone 28 matches without keeping a clean sheet, which has shown just how poor Bologna’s defence has been over the course of the season. Their hopes of ending that wait look slim as they head to AC Milan, with the hosts scoring 20 times in seven matches since the restart

Milan is unbeaten in that time, while they have won all of their three home games since returning to action, seeing off Roma, Juventus and Parma here. With five wins in seven, the Rossoneri are in great shape, while their impressive record against Bologna suggests there’s more to come for the hosts.

Bologna to continue attacking threat
The visitors have scored twice in each of their last three games and we expect their six-game run of both teams scoring to continue. Milan has seen both teams score in four of their last five games, while Bologna has scored in 75% of their trips. They’ve also had a decent record against the Rossoneri of late, scoring five times in the last five meetings between the pair.

However, Milan has won and conceded in four of those five matches. We’re backing a repeat in our predictions here, with the hosts shipping too many goals in their high-scoring run. The visitors are consistent scorers on the road, but Milan should have too much for them after their improved results of late.

We’re going with Milan to win and both teams to score, while we’re going with a 2-1 victory for the hosts as our correct score prediction. 67% of Bologna’s losses this term have come by a single goal, while that scoreline has landed in three of the last five meetings between these two.
