Anticipating: List of 4 jobs Jurgen Klopp could take in 2025

On his recent press conference, Klopp said that he'll most likely leave the Reds after his contract expires in 2024 - although we'd love nothing more than for him to stay with us for longer. E360hubs takes a look at where he could go after 9 years at Anfield.

Back to FSV Mainz
The German international made over 325 appearances for the team during his playing days and he remains a cult hero at Mainz due to his managerial stint.

He secured the club's promotion to the Bundesliga for the first time in the team's history in the 2003-04 season and then led them to the 11th position in the German top-flight for two years in a row.

Klopp said that he would most likely like to retire and live in Mainz - a managerial return there cannot be ruled out.

German national team job
The 53-year-old has won everything there is to win at the club level and a national team job could be tempting for Klopp.

It has been widely reported that the German football association is interested in Klopp for the head coach position, and why wouldn't they? If he joins the national team in 2024, the team would be fit and firing for the 2026 World Cup and stand a great chance of winning it all under Klopp.

If he is to win a major trophy with a national team, Klopp can definitely enter the conversation of the best coach of the 21st century - if not all-time!

A Dortmund return
Although his career started at Mainz, Klopp achieved stardom with Dortmund. He led the club to back-to-back Bundesliga titles and helped end the Bayern Munich hegemony in Germany - albeit not for long: since Dortmund last won the league in 2012, the Bavarian club has gone on to win every league title.

The German sadly never won the Champions League with Dortmund and if he is to return to his home country, there is no better team for him to manage than his old club.

Austria national team
Klopp loves to manage the underdogs, and he loves a project - case in point, he took over struggling Liverpool and Dortmund teams and turned them into the best sides in their respective countries.

Austria are Germany's neighbours and share the same national language. A promising team, the country has not managed to qualify for a World Cup since 1998 and Klopp could be the man to lead them to that level.

Of course, winning an international trophy with them would be no less than a major miracle, but even getting them qualified for the World Cup would make Klopp a legend in the eyes of millions of citizens.

Moreover, after 9 years at a massive club like Liverpool, the German might want to step away from the limelight for a bit and take up a project such as this one. While the German national team job is one of the most scrutinised and high-pressure jobs in world football, managing the Austrian team would be a nice break for the Premier League winner.

Of course, what all of us want is simple - for Klopp to stay here for 10 more seasons and lead us to a bunch of titles!

2024 is still far away - although the gaffer has not stayed at any club beyond 9 seasons, we're still hoping that in the next 4 years, he changes his mind and extends his Anfield stay.
