Atalanta vs Bologna Preview, Betting Tips and Odds

Atalanta vs Bologna predictions for Tuesday’s Serie A clash.

Atalanta’s title hopes take a hit
Atalanta’s hope of clinching an extraordinary Serie A title took a massive blow on Saturday as they were held to a 1-1 draw at Verona, but the most entertaining side in Italy are still in with a shout.

At the time of writing, they sit six points adrift of Juventus – although the reigning champions do have a game in hand – with four games remaining. It would take something of a miracle, but while the hope is there Atalanta will continue to push for it.

La Dea is certainly performing like title challengers. They are unbeaten since the middle of January in all competitions, winning 13 of their 16 matches since and drawing the remaining three. Two of these failures to win came away from home, and they come into this game on a seven-match winning streak at home.

Bologna struggle to end poor run
This won’t come as good news to Bologna, who head into this match on the back of a 5-1 drubbing at AC Milan. They are now winless in four matches and have slipped to 10th in the table, dropping out of the race for Europa League qualification.

Bologna’s most recent defeat will undoubtedly have damaged morale, and it’s certainly not a good way to prepare for a trip to Serie A’s highest scorers.

Another high scoring Atalanta win on the cards
Atalanta has scored an incredible 94 league goals this season, averaging 2.76 goals per game and 2.94 per game at home. That being said, this attack-minded approach does come with its pitfalls – they have conceded in 12 of their last 15 in all competitions.

Bologna, meanwhile, has found the net in each of their last seven Serie A matches and have only failed to score in 18% of their league outings this season, so they should at least be confident of finding the net on Tuesday.

Still, it’s hard to look beyond Atalanta as the winners here. They are in phenomenal form at home and a prediction of Atalanta to win and both teams to score looks good value for money.

With their average of 2.94 goals per home game this season and Bologna scoring exactly one goal in three of their last four matches, a 3-1 correct score prediction also has appeal.
