Barcelona Thinking of Semedo-Cancelo swap to facilitate Eric Garcia's return

Manchester City is pushing for the exchange of the full-backs while the Catalans want their former academy graduate back to replace Gerard Pique.

The Nelson Semedo-Joao Cancelo swap deal is back on Barcelona's radar, according to Diario Sport's cover story this Thursday.

The Citizens is pushing for the exchange of the full-backs while the Catalans consider accepting this 'barter' to facilitate Eric Garcia's return.

Barca is heavily interested in their former academy graduate who is already compared to Gerard Pique.

As for the Semedo-Cancelo swap, it could also balance the Catalan club's books just like the Arthur-Pjanic deal last month.

Semedo and Garcia are all interested in the potential switch while Cancelo feels City's playing style doesn't suit him and wouldn't mind leaving either.

The talks are already ongoing but the final agreement is unlikely to be reached before the current season ends next month.

Semedo has been involved in seven goals in 40 matches this term while Cancelo has featured in 10 games fewer.

Meanwhile, 19-year-old centre-back Garcia has made 18 first-team appearances for the Citizens, contributing one assist.
