Bayern CEO Rummenigge on Ousmane Dembele: 'He was one of my favourite players'

Bayern's boss confesses he loved watching the French winger during his spell at Borussia Dortmund.

Rummenigge concedes that the Barcelona move has halted Dembele's progress.

"When he was at Dortmund, I loved watching Ousmane Dembele, he was one of my favourite players," Bayern's CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has confessed in an interview with France Football, as quoted by Diario Sport.

Rummenigge conceded Dembele hasn't been at his best since joining Barca in 2017, adding: "Since he went to Barca it's sad that his progression has stopped because of so many injuries."

There were rumours that the Frenchman could have ended up at Bayern instead of Philippe Coutinho last summer.

This term, Dembele has only made nine appearances due to a series of injuries.
